Before you start using this program you must verify that your computer has the appropriate technical requirements.
Technical Requirements - How to use this site
To access HMA Physicians’ Online CME Programs you will need:
- A computer with an
Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox with Java Script enabled,
- A live, high speed internet connection, such as Cable or DSL for optimum performance.
- Adobe Flash Player installed in your browser.
Once you have read the above technical requirements and verify that your computer has them, you can now register.
If you are having technical problems, please contact your IT department; if you're IT department is having trouble, please have them contact HMA Corporate Help Desk.
If you have general questions about the CME online program itself, please visit the Contact page and type your question and submit and you will get a response back.
I'm a first time user, how do I register?
First times users - How to register:
- Go to http://www.hmaphysicians.com
- Scroll to the bottom of the “Home” page and click on “Important information for first time users” and verify you have the technical requirements listed.
- If you have not yet registered with the website, click on the “Register” link in the top right corner of the “Home” page.
- Complete the 4-step registration process adding your personal information, contact/location information, and medical specialties.
- Once the registration process is complete, you will receive an automated email prompting you to activate your account by clicking on the link within the email.
- After you click on the link within the automated email, you will be taken back to the website and your account will then be completely active.
Once you are registered:
- To login to the website, type in your email address and password in the applicable fields in the upper right hand corner of the website and press the ‘enter’ or the button provided.
- You will now be taken to your “My Account” section. In the “My Account” section, you can update any of the information that you registered with, browse the available and upcoming programs and access your CME credits and transcript.
- To watch a CME webcast, click on the “Available Programs” link and select the program that you are interested in viewing. Or you can just click on "Home" and you can view and choose your presentation from there as well.
- You will then be taken to the ‘cover sheet’ for the program outlining the learning objectives, disclosure information, accreditation details, and technical requirements for viewing the webcast. To launch the webcast, click on the “Start Webcast” button.
- The CME webcast program will be shown in the main window of the website in a flash video presentation. At anytime, you can pause, rewind, or restart the program by clicking on the applicable buttons located below the speaker.
- During the program, you must verify that you are attentively watching the presentation. You will periodically receive a pop-up asking if you are still there and you need to click on “yes, I’m still here”. If you do not click on this, the presentation will cease and you must start over again from the beginning.
- Following the program, you will need to complete the evaluation in order to receive your CME credit by clicking on “Start Evaluation”.
- Once you have completely finished the presentation, including the evaluation, you can view your CME history to see that your CME credits have been posted. At anytime, you can go to the “Programs” section and view your CME history. You can also print a CME certificate or transcript for verification purposes.
Who is eligible to register for the HMA Physician CME Programs?
Currently, we are only providing our CME program to HMA employed and staff physicians at each of our hospitals and clinic locations.
Do we have to pay to watch each CME webcast?
If you are an HMA employed or staff physician, all of the CME webcasts are offered to you free of charge as apart of our commitment to you.
Are these programs provided by an accreditied CME provider?
Yes. Physicians Regional Medical Center, in conjuction with Medical Surgical Specialists, are the content providers of our CME programs. Physicians Regional Medical Center is accredited by the Florida Medical Association (FMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
My video timed-out, why am I logged out of the system?
You must watch the video all the way through and complete the evaluation form to receive credit. You will be prompted every ten minutes to confirm that you are still watching. If you do not respond, your video will end and you will need to login again to re-watch and collect the credit for the video. No credit is accumulated for a timed-out session.
How can I contact the presenter if I have a question?
The presenter’s email address will be available to you during the evaluation review for any questions you may have.
